Set Sail on the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers 2024
The Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) returns for another year, with sailors from around the globe making their final preparations for this iconic transatlantic journey. The rally begins in late November and runs through to late December, departing from Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, and ending in Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia. The annual event continues to attract both experienced sailors and first-time adventurers, all eager to experience the thrill of crossing the Atlantic in the company of fellow cruisers.
2024 ARC: Atlantic Rally for Cruisers
The rally is set to attract over 200 boats, with over 1200 people taking part, made up of families, racers and cruising couples. Boats ranging from large to small will all be embarking on the 2,700-nautical-mile ocean crossing together.
The ARC and ARC+ are organised by the World Cruising Club (WCC). WCC rallies are designed to provide sailors with a safer and more social way to undertake these ambitious voyages. The World Cruising Club offers invaluable support to participants, from safety seminars and training ahead of departure to technical assistance and real-time advice on weather, logistics and medical concerns while at sea. This comprehensive support leaves you feeling prepared and confident to take on this adventure.
2024 World ARC: Circumnavigating the Globe
For sailors looking to go beyond a transatlantic adventure, the World ARC offers the ultimate challenge - a circumnavigation of the globe. Typically taking around 15 months, the rally starts and finishes in Saint Lucia, and its route spans multiple continents and oceans. After completing the ARC, many sailors choose to continue on with the World ARC and set off on this extended voyage.
While the exact route is flexible, World ARC participants have the opportunity to visit some of the world’s most breathtaking destinations, including the Galapagos Islands, South Africa, French Polynesia, Australia and Brazil. The rally provides a structured yet adaptable way to explore regions of the world most people only dream of.
In addition to providing safety and technical support, WCC organises social events at many stopovers, giving participants the chance to unwind and connect with fellow sailors as they visit exotic ports of call.
